Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej / Now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to achieve a score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci at just 6 years old. Comaneci was the first to compete for time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. At her first international meet, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was named the all-around Junior Champion. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals, as well as one silver. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career in entertainment when she was in her teens. The path she took to success began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. Ice Capades featured performances of ice-skating by actors.
